Subgenre: Semi-Platform Adventure (like SMB3 but w/ more linear hub maps), Hidden stars which you need to find 5 of to progress to the boss in each world
Movement Mechanics: Air-glide move
Other: Mini-games (counting game is bugged?)
Power ups carry over to the next stage
Metroid elements (gain access to areas in previous levels via new abilities - all optional though?)
Some interesting stage design (enemies as platforms, breakable walls, bowling balls)
Alternate exits (no purpose though?)
Exit any level by pressing select
In-game visual tutorial of new mechanics - later used in Wario Land 3
